Fight fans: Firelake Arena proudly presents Freestyle Cage Fighting 50. Firelake has been home to many FCF events over the years and we are honored to be back once again. in addition to a stellar fight card we are happy to announce former FCF Bantamwelght women's champion Miesha Tate as our special guest. Tate won the FCF title right here in Shawnee and is excited to return as our guest. Miesha went on to become the Strikeforce champion and is now the UFC #1 bantamweight contender.
In our main event of the evening, FCF, Bellator and UFC veteran Shane Howell (13-8) takes on the tough Texan and Legacy FC, up and comer Ryan Hollis (9-6). This fight is for the FCF Bantamweight title and will prove to be the state's most competitive fight in this weight class.
Our co-main event features local Shawnee native Gary Frazier vs. Miles Martin. In 2009, Frazier gladly took on the tough job of being Daniel Cormier's first opponent in Strikeforce. After some time away from the sport Frazier has found a new love for MMA and has been training hard to make his comeback. His opponent, Miles Martin, is a much younger fighter with a muay thai striking background combined with Brazilian ]iu jitsu. Miles got his start with FCF and is ready to make his mark as a professional.
Another feature fight on the card includes local undefeated welterweight Rob Wood vs. Kansas fighter Rome Lindsay. Lindsay is the more experienced fighter with 9 professional fights under his belt. Rob will have his work cut out for him to protect his 6-0 record.
FCF has always been a huge promoter of women in the sport of MMA; this time is no different. Oklahoma City's Emily Ducote has been very active as an amateur and is ready to step up to the professional ranks. Her opponent, Emily Whitmire, is making the trip from Las Vegas. Whitmire is fresh off her recent title win for the nations top amateur series Tuff-n-Uff.
Also featured on the card are several local fighters ready to make their mark on the local scene and fight their way to the next level. They include; Brian Grinnell, Teagan Dooley, Braden Smith, Devin Weaver, Kendall Carnahan, Preston Rice, Carlos Watson, Chris Mullins, JR Coughran, Josh Pope and many more.
FCF 50 will be Oklahoma's biggest event to date. The Firelake Arena is the best venue for MMA and we are excited to partner with FCF on this event.
VIP tables include a one time free bucket of beer and finger foods. VIP tables seat 8 people and include a meet and greet with celebrity guests!
