Sammy Hagar is the multi-platinum Red Rocker, former front man of hard rock legends Van Halen and respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, who is currently on his fourth platinum run with the super group Chickenfoot. Throughout his prolific music career he also evolved into a dedicated philanthropist, New York Times best-selling author and auspicious entrepreneur with the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand, Sammy's Beach Bar Rum and several successful bar & restaurants.

Raised in Fontana, CA, Hagar burst onto the scene in San Francisco as the lead singer of Montrose. Following a string of eight solo albums, culminating in several platinum efforts and hundreds of sold out concert appearances across the country; Hagar joined Van Halen in 1985 and took the band to unprecedented heights, including four consecutive No.1 albums before the band broke up in the mid-nineties. He later returned to Van Halen to lead a triumphant 2004 reunion tour.

Aside from making his mark as a hit songwriter and lead vocalist, Hagar has played with a succession of genius guitar players; from Ronnie Montrose and Neal Schon to Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani from his current group, Chickenfoot, which also features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Hagar, who celebrates his birthday in epic fashion every year at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, MX, expanded his Cantina restaurants with locations in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe and a number of new restaurants called Sammy's Beach Bar and Grill, where proceeds raise money for local charities. In September 2012 he bolstered his restaurant businesses, opening Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar & Grill in Roseville, CA.

Having a continuing interest in but not owning the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand as of the start of 2011, Sammy is expanding his interests in the spirit industry, producing Sammy's Beach Bar Rum, a world-class rum from Hawaii where he owns a home and resides part of each year.

2011 saw the release of his highly anticipated auto-biography, "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock," which reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List as a hardcover and again claimed the same spot upon its release in paperback in 2012. Said co-author Joel Selvin of Hagar: "Sammy has always been this guy - he is as authentic a person as the guys in the Grateful Dead, maybe more so. But he's been underrated in that department and when you read the story... You're going to understand Sammy is an authentic American working-class hero."

Other non-music activities of Sammy include his number one priority – being a great husband to wife Kari and father to his kids. He also enjoys vintage cars, wine, gourmet cooking, quality spirits, charities he has founded, excelling in his business ventures and having good friends.
